The attention of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has been drawn to a recent video circulating online, where the driver of a Sienna car was seen disposing wastes from his vehicle into a drainage channel.

This dastard act is totally condemned by the Authority and we assure the public that the driver of the vehicle, with registration number FST 743 EJ, will be made to face the law, for undermining efforts of the state government to make the environment cleaner and safer for all.

LAWMA will corroborate with appropriate security agencies to ensure that the unscrupulous driver is fished out within the shortest period of time.

As a matter of fact, there’s no hiding place for anyone, who engages and indulges in any environmental misdemeanor, such persons or individual will no doubt face the consequences, through heavy sanctions by the courts.

The Authority, has over time, carried out sensitisation campaigns on the dangers of indiscriminate waste disposal, especially inside drainage channels, which aggravates the problem of flood in the state.

These acts, if not checked, will  expose the environment and residents to ominous dangers and hazardous consequences.

Therefore, we appeal to all residents to cooperate with the Authority, by shunning all forms of indiscriminate disposal of wastes and patronising assigned PSP operators; by so doing, safeguard the environment.
